University Medical Center Groningen

The University Medical Centre Groningen (UMCG) is a teaching and research centre in the northern Netherlands. With 1,300 beds, UMCG admits nearly 37,000 patients and hosts over 500,000 outpatient visits annually, and employs 11,000 people. The multidisciplinary research on healthy ageing extends from fundamental biological and (pre)clinical research through to applied research into social effects of disease and health, such as the cohort study LifeLines. In this way, results can be translated rapidly into prevention and / or treatment methods. UMCG brings expertise in network cooperation and coordination in a care setting from ACT and other projects. Within the northern Netherlands, a large infrastructure can generate knowledge in ACT @Scale and translate it into clinically validated and commercially viable applications. UMCG leads WP7 on sustainability and business models. Learn more about the services included in ACT@Scale here.
