Region of Southern Denmark

The Region of Southern Denmark (RSD) has 1.2 million inhabitants and four hospital units running 18 hospitals. The region collaborates closely with 800 GPs, and the 22 municipalities that are responsible for preventative services, rehabilitation, and home care. All hospitals in RSD have implemented telemedicine services and the level of electronic communication is very high.

OUH (Odense University Hospital and Svendborg Hospital) is one of three main hospital centres in Denmark and the largest hospital in the RSD. Innovation activities at the hospital are organised in the Centre for Innovative Medical Technology (CIMT) by an experienced team of project managers, health IT researchers and experts. CIMT is a joint research and innovation centre for OUH and University of Southern Denmark (SDU) and is very active in research and innovation projects at European level. CIMT works in close collaboration with other regional agencies in the field of health innovation and integrated care

In ACT@Scale, RSD will be in charge of the dissemination activities related to the project (WP2) and also contribute to the work in the other work packages. RSD and OUH cooperate on international projects and have many employees with expertise related to dissemination activities such as maintaining websites, creating leaflets, newsletters etc. The region houses Denmark’s first Centre for Telepsychiatry, and in the project, the main focus of RSD will be on upscaling telepsychiatric services (learn more here).
