ACT@Scale lessons learned presented at ProMIS conference
ACT@Scale program coordinator, Dr. Cristina Bescos, was invited to the conference “Integrated services: organizational healthcare models in the framework of chronic diseases” on 26-27 March 2018 in Turin, organised by ProMIS – Mattone Internazionale Salute Programme, organisation for the promotion of integrated care in Italian regions and in Europe.
Lessons learned from ACT@Scale were discussed among other European key initatives to support the scaling-up and the assessment of integrated care. ACT@Scale good practices were detailed comparing Italian and international policies, strategies and experiences in integrated chronic disease management. Five Italian Regions: Emilia Romagna, Lazio, Lombardy, Molise and Piedmont presented their status in the area to representatives of the European Institutions, Ministry of Health, and international and national Agencies.
Good discussions related to adequate key performance indicators and evaluation frameworks, and citizen empowerment showed the level of maturity reached by some Italian services.
